The series Neon , to which this specific pair of glasses belongs, is inspired by the Neon ART movement, where artistic innovation occurs through the use of light and Neon.Neon lamps, gas-filled vapor tube devices, were invented in the early 1900s and used mainly in advertising in the 1930s. Light in general is responsible for creating color, and each object can produce different sensations on the eye depending on how it reflects or emits it. A number of artists have based their artwork on these principles. They used neon’s so unique combination of color and light to convey emotions and ideas. Translated into eyewear, our Neon series features holographic and custom acetate colors, rounded edges and sandblasted glass-like finishes. Lori – Lori Herbersger, the Swiss artist who inspired PORTRAIT Neon’s most feminine icon, not only uses light tubes in her art, but also considers reflections and interaction with the objects around them. Portrait Lori round sunglasses have a shape that emphasizes the uniqueness of the wearer, interacting through color and creating translucent play on the wearer’s face.
